Pakistan P.M: Charge Musharraf With Treason

Pervez-Musharraf2Nawaz Sharif’s intention to pursue treason charges against Musharraf.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that former military ruler Pervez Musharraf should go on trial on charges of treason for firing judges and seizing power in 1999.

“Musharraf will have to answer for his guilt before the court,” Sharif said.

On the social media website facebook, Musharraf’s official fan page posted :

June 24th, 2013: Dr. Raza Bokhari, International Spokesman and North American Point of Contact to General Pervez Musharraf, Former President of Pakistan, in speaking to various media outlets issued the following statement:

The Nawaz Sharif government is demonstrating recklessness in its intention to pursue unwarranted treason charges against Former President Musharraf. It is relevant to remember that the Federation of Pakistan was not an aggrieved party in the declaration of State of Emergency in Pakistan on November 3rd, 2007. The Emergency was proclaimed on the request of the Government of Pakistan, both at the Federal and Provincial level. The text of the November 3rd Emergency Proclamation reflects that the Prime Minister, Governors of all four provinces, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chiefs of the Armed Forces, Vice-Chief of Army Staff and Corps Commanders of the Pakistan Army had deliberated on the challenges facing the country at that time and recommended proclamation of Emergency throughout Pakistan.

In my opinion The Former President has served Pakistan with selfless devotion and was very great leader of his time.
